Sri Lanka is a country that is blessed with hundreds of breath taking water falls. Adam’s Peak falls is also such a natural beauty which is also known as Sri Pada Falls or Gartmore Falls as it is located in Gartmore estate and very closer to Sri Pada mountain. Its beauty is high lightened with the surrounding green mountains and the cold weather. Height of the waterfall is 25 metres. There are two streams on the top of those mountain and those two steams join together making this picturesque roaring waterfall. At the end it release all the water to Maskeliya Reservoir.
Adam’s Peak fall is in Nuwara Eliya district and is only 5km away from Nallathanniya. Another good thing is that this waterfalls lies just 500m away from the main road.
If you are coming from Colombo, it takes 155km to get to the Adam’s Peak waterfall through Awissawella – Ginigathhena – Hatton – Maskeliya. This is about 4hrs drive depending on traffic. But if you are coming from Nuwara Eliya it takes only around 2 hrs through Thalawakele – Hatton – Maskeliya.
